Books Written In The Depths
For those who want to go into the depths, you must come to understand: No one standing on the edge knows what it is actually like unless they have jumped in. Even then, they may have only submerged themselves just below the surface for a short time. While this baptism will allow you to emerge new and different, it is another thing to learn you can breathe underwater. It is another thing to sink into the depths of God where you are so surrounded and consumed by all that is God, you allow yourself to sink and sink to the point that surface living is no longer adequate.
You will come back to the surface for air from time to time, as you learn to trust, but you will slowly grow in recognizing when you are living on the surface and when you are trusting in the depths. It is in the depths that you learn to take flight to the heights. It is in the depths where you learn how far. It is in the depths where you learn how wide. I am writing a short book on these 4 directions of eternity, but for now I offer some books that may offend, but will challenge and inspire. They will read you more than you read them. They are ones you can return to over and over, until the words become flesh and you find yourself “wanting” to sink deeper into the depths of God already calling your name.

Though there are many more books written on and from the surface of the earth, there are many, but still less, written in the depths with wisdom from above. Once you find them, or they find you, share with all who will eventually listen.
