Dreams and The Call To Resist Tyranny
I had a dream…two nights ago that was a warning and a call to speak up in order to serve the many that are still being manipulated, confused, and mind-controlled in ways that lead them to believe things are for their good, and the good of others, when its end result is harm and control. Even if the context of the dream is controversial for you, I encourage you to read on to the larger point that will be made.
I dreamt I was in a school where a manipulator was asking questions about people’s health as he was passing out vaccine shots. He asked me about my health with an odd question: “What did you take in Jefferson?” I told him I take vitamins. He laughed a sinister laugh and poked me with the plastic cap that remained over a needle of a syringe in a mocking manner. Once I realized what was going on, I began to shout to everyone in the school to not allow themselves to be coerced into doing something against their will. The feeling in the dream was one of manipulation, mind-control attempts over people, and for myself to take an uncomfortable stand to speak up for them.
Some will understandably connect to this dream based on recent events in human history where they might feel the specific theme of this dream happened, though others still might not think hindsight is 2020. Regardless of your own personal medical choices, many people have come to believe you are allowed to have a choice without being manipulated into choosing between your health, job, or freedoms as a human being. These kinds of issues go beyond our gender, hence other current cultural issues that also agree with sayings like, “My body, my choice,” because it affects a wider range of people, namely everybody. The larger point in the dream is not so much the specific context about vaccine shots, but the spirit of manipulation being injected into people’s minds to control, and even legislate, citizens of the earth in unhealthy ways.
However, the biggest point in the dream, and the most surprising to me, came in the name Jefferson.
God will speak to us in different ways unique to our individual lives. As I contemplated the name Jefferson, I was directed to Thomas Jefferson. Now to understand me better you must know I am not the patriotic type. I am not someone who talks about founding fathers or United States history because my focus has been mostly on God and healthy spirituality universally. From a U.S. standpoint in where I live, I had confronted “Nationalism” after deconstructing it years ago, particularly the way some Christians interpreted the United States in connection to God. However, I was recently corrected in some of this through another dream this summer that led me to a book I had read over a decade ago. In that book this quote was found:
“There is a current mood of anti-nationalism in our country today, even in some segments of the church. God loves nationalism, as long as it is the right kind. There is an ungodly nationalism that basically equates Christianity with the nation. I’m not advocating that kind. But there is also a godly nationalism that says, “These are the borders within which God has placed me, that I might seek Him and find Him, and show others the way to Him also.” Each of us who claims the name of Christ needs to be this kind of nationalist, actively praying and seeking and working for the righteousness of God and the renovation of our culture for the good of our nation and its people. We will never change our nation by cursing it.” (The Call of the Elijah Revolution by James Goll and Lou Engle)
This made sense to our moment in history as I began to realize other reasons I was shown that book in the dream. RFK Jr. adds a further point about nationalism:
“Nationalism and populism often get a bad name, but those are natural reactions to globalization. Globalization is a project of the intelligence agencies, the world economic forum, and the large corporations who want to commoditize our landscapes, our trade, our children, and our health. They want to do that globally to have centralized control over the globe. Nationalism is a reaction to that. It’s for people to say, “No, we don’t want top-down control, we want democracy. We want bottom-up. If you look at all the new evolution of what the democratic party has become it has become the party of centralized control. This is a longer-term project of the intelligence establishment and the intelligence apparatus.”
We see there is a healthy nationalism that understands the borders and boundaries by which we are placed to work with God for the good of our nation and its people. Nationalism, in the healthiest definition, is also a reaction by everyday people to the manipulative powers that seek to censor and control them. These powers have no actual care for their health and life, so long as they are able to remain in control under the guise of helping them. This guise then, is anti-nationalism in the darkest of ways disguised as angels of light, of which God does not endorse and has throughout history repeatedly raised up people to speak truth to these powers.
“There is no justification for taking away individuals’ freedom in the guise of public safety.” - Thomas Jefferson
I understand the dangerous mixture of religion and politics, which is why some people close to me have been surprised at my being more vocal about political matters during this election season. This is both not my choice and it is my choice. It was not my choice in that God began to awaken me to important issues to be addressed that I would usually remain silent about. I have decided to be obedient to that call. I have come to realize this is not just another election that will come and go, though of course, in one sense, it will. I understand the people who think every election is so dramatically important that if their side doesn’t win, they feel it is the end of the world. This happens when people are not anchored in God and their candidate loses, or even, if their candidate wins but disappoints as they turn out to be not who they, or the propaganda media, said they were. I do not hold my energies that way, as God is my sustenance regardless of outcomes.
However, we are undoubtedly in a moment where it is the end of the world as we have known it. We are on the verge of the end of the U.S. as we know it and there are two ways it can go. The mass deconstruction taking place in our nation, not unlike the deconstruction of Christianity I’ve spoken about in recent years, is both healthy and dangerous. There are things that need to be deconstructed, but there are things that do not. There are things that need to be reformed, but there are things that do not. For example, Christian nationalism needs to be deconstructed, but it also needs to be understood within the history of the U.S. with how history is repeating itself in our time when actual tyranny and totalitarianism is inching its way in its quest to take control of a nation.
Thomas Jefferson makes sense here:
“Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have ... The course of history shows that as a government grows, liberty decreases. The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.”
Throughout history God has raised up prophets, truth-tellers, and leaders to warn people of what was coming upon their nation and invite them to change their ways. One of those prophets was Jeremiah. I was directed to read his book and learned how Jeremiah spoke to a propagandized world, both in religion and politics, sharing uncomfortable things that seemed heretical and wrong, but was actually revealing the path of return that could ultimately save those who listened, or at least, save their future generations. As I read Jeremiah, I saw some themes that were similar to our current moment in the United States. But let me be clear as I share one theme in Jeremiah that the majority of the U.S. is concerned about: immigration. It is true we are to love foreigners, in fact, we are to love every soul we meet, which includes immigrants, friends, and even enemies. It is not true that immigrants are all called to come to one nation in order to live, especially when there are laws designed to ensure the health and safety of both those who do come and those already here. So when God warns nations over and over to listen to Wisdom in how to serve people well on this subject, nations get overrun into destruction if they refuse to listen.
Yet even then, God has redemption in mind.
For example, in the midst of warning a nation of the hardship coming on them from foreigners God speaks through Jeremiah,
“Yet even in those days,” declares the LORD, “I will not make a full end of you. And when your people ask, ‘Why did the LORD our God do all this to us?’ you must reply, ‘You rejected him and gave yourselves to foreign gods in your own land. Now you will serve foreigners in a land that is no longer your own.” - 5:18-19
It was also warned in Deuteronomy:
"Foreigners who live in your land will gain more and more power, while you gradually lose yours.” - Deuteronomy 28:43
But God still works towards this:
“’In that day,’ declares the LORD Almighty, ‘I will break the yoke off their necks and will tear off their bonds; no longer will foreigners enslave them.” - Jeremiah 30:8
This is just one theme we are currently facing as a nation. It is not some outdated Old Testament narrative that no longer means anything to present nations. There is a very real standard by which we are to love all people, not just in a utopian ideal that one nation can become the perfect place for everyone. We live within the boundaries and borders in which we are called to serve in a way that protects human life and works for its flourishing. This is not an excuse to not love foreigners just because we are afraid of the other, those not like us. This complex issue will never be perfect, but it leads to the fact that we need wisdom to lead this country and allow it to be a great place for more foreigners to come in a healthy way. This will end up helping “the many” rather than hurting them. Jefferson pointed out there are healthy things that have existed in the U.S. in a greater degree than other places around the world:
“A government regulating itself by what is wise and just for the many, uninfluenced by the local and selfish views of the few who direct their affairs, has not been seen, perhaps, on earth. Or if it existed for a moment at the birth of ours, it would not be easy to fix the term of its continuance. Still, I believe it does exist here in a greater degree than anywhere else; and for its growth and continuance... I offer sincere prayers.”
The U.S. is still a unique experiment where we are seemingly still able to vote for the candidates that we want to be servants of the people and reject those that want to rule over us, so we can grow in actual freedom as people. We all can feel the ways in which this does and does not happen now, even if we can’t put it into words. This design of being a servant to people is the way God desires the world to function in general, but when tyrants and elites begin to rule, even with smiling faces and nice sounding words pretending to be for the people, the people groan under the weight of oppression in various forms.
But then, God raises up deliverers.
Are we willing to accept our deliverers when they grow up on the earth?
“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing” - Jesus (Luke 13:34)
Does America attempt to kill her prophets and those sent to her?
One of the reasons this is not just another election is that we are on the verge of the tyranny that begins through mass censorship, which has already been creeping into our lives. This is a legit act of totalitarianism that will harm many lives as people lose access to actual facts in a fact-checked world designed to control narratives. We are already dealing with misinformation, disinformation, and propaganda on mass levels where the government is raising the same concern, only to lie about their concern to further gain control over people fighting their tyranny. The government under the Biden-Harris administration was caught successfully coercing the suppression of information on major social media platforms and labeling facts as misinformation. The CEO of Facebook stepped forward to admit it was wrong and regretted allowing it. Combine that governmental oversight with the news propaganda machine and you come to realize why Jefferson said:
“The press is impotent when it abandons itself to falsehood.”
and
“Nothing can now be believed which is seen in a newspaper. Truth itself becomes suspicious by being put into that polluted vehicle. The real extent of this state of misinformation is known only to those who are in situations to confront facts within their knowledge with the lies of the day.”
and
“A well informed citizenry is the best defense against tyranny.”
Surprising Modern Day Deliverers
A surprising modern day deliverer is Elon Musk. Controversial as he is, someone who uses their wealth and power to serve people, especially on the issue of free speech, is one of the greatest acts of resistance in fighting tyranny. By his own admission, Musk hates politics, but has entered the sphere because he felt the stakes for humanity were too high. He is not wrong. He also understands the risk as now assassination attempts on his life become a greater possibility. Remember how Jesus said people love to persecute and kill the prophets and leaders who are sent to you? Government leaders around the world, including our own, are fighting to censor and silence Musk’s actions to end censorship and give people access to free speech.
Musk understands Jefferson’s words:
“In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock.”
Musk himself has beautifully said,
“If I died knowing I did what was right or did my best to do what is right, and even if in the history books they said what I did was wrong, I would still feel ok about that. I care about the reality of Goodness and not the perception of it."
I agree with author Jonathan Turley when he says:
“…..love him or hate him, he (Musk) is, without question, the most consequential figure in free speech of our generation. I think he has done more for free speech than any living person today.”
What Elon Musk has done with X, formerly Twitter, reveals this. From releasing the Twitter files showing government interference, to remaining steadfast in commitment to free speech, X remains one of the only sources where free speech and actual facts can be found readily. Of course, you will also find misinformation there, but that is necessary when freedom for people is a reality. It is also why discernment and Wisdom in relation to God is essential, as information alone cannot inform or transform you, in the deepest of ways. That transformation only comes from God’s work on the heart.
Another surprising modern day deliverer who is using, or even giving up his privileges of wealth to serve people, is Donald Trump. Oh boy, the level of opportunity to deal with your inner issues and perceptions that arise in people when you say this is massive, but I too, do not care about the perception of goodness, but about its reality. One of my favorite quotes to live into in life is North Carolina’s motto, “To be rather than to seem.” I believe if you develop a centered contemplative life, you’ll learn how your inner energies can be transformed into genuine love, especially towards perceived enemies and difficult people. This happened to me with Trump. I used to think he was weird, especially in how Christians seemed to put him on a pedestal to be some savior of the world. My understanding of God and God’s ways would naturally confront someone like him. From his wealth to his words, he seemed unfit for God to use in a healthy way. That perception began to crack in 2018 with another dream, where God began to soften my heart towards him, though I was not yet convinced.
However, the dream contained some insights that later came true in 2020 and it made me curious. Yes, hindsight is 2020 in ways the world is just starting to understand.
But here is the thing, I am not a political person. I may have even written in the name “Jesus” most times I voted for a President, right or wrong as that might be. The closest I got to politics was 2012 when I began listening to Ron Paul and his libertarian values resonated with my own. However, I remember having a vision at the time that if Ron were to win, which was impossible with how powers were entrenched in government, the weight of many people would be crushed at the level of deconstruction that would happen to the governmental powers. High levels of freedom would have been given back to the people in mass, but the U.S. as a whole, was not ready for it. It’s a major thing to give power back to a large number of people in a return to God or true freedom. Moses, as a deliverer in Egypt and the desert learned this the hard way, but at least deliverance was finally available, even for people who constantly complained.
Then around 2020, and I encourage you to read my recent article “Why Misinformation is Necessary” as an example of this, I began to look into news headlines that constantly popped up when I would go online. I don’t watch the news or read news articles, but I got curious when every article headline seemed to only paint Donald Trump in a negative light. I was consistently seeing things they claimed he did or said, which began to be alarming. I then began to research the actual context only to find it was not what he said, or that the full context of what he said was missing to intentionally make him look bad. Often, it was written in such a way that was the exact opposite of what he was saying or doing. Not being a news watcher, but one who critiqued the news for years because of its addiction to bad news, fear mongering, and pharmaceutical propaganda, I was not surprised this was being done, but I was surprised at the coordinated level it was being done towards Trump.
While it would take much longer to go into the deeper ins and outs of my journey with God in this matter, I will simply say this: I have come to realize that Donald Trump is far more human than the dehumanization campaign has made him out to be. This is what propaganda is designed to do - dehumanize people so people give someone no chance to know who they really are, both in flaws and strengths, all while training you to reject or hate them as a person. I believe Trump is an excellent modern case study in the effects of propaganda and quite possibly, one of the best studies ever to learn about the powers of misinformation, censorship, and manufactured hate in the internet age. I personally realized this is not so much about Trump, the scapegoat target for so many negative energies, but I did learn when Trump says:
“They are not coming after me, they are coming after you,”
he actually means this and the entire trajectory of his life before and after running for President proves it.
My stance has never really been about Trump, or defending his life as some grand model of virtue, or a place to get your theology about God. I understand there is a larger story in play that includes, but transcends his life. God is ultimately orchestrating a Larger Story of humanity’s freedom and spiritual progress within each nation. As Musk said, it is not about the perception of goodness but more about its actuality. So in the current election, are we actually able to choose between the lesser of two evils?
No.
Not if you understand the larger issue of censorship, free speech, religious freedom, medical freedom, and government control before us. This is actually the great calamity that could befall us, and there is nothing lesser evil about it. The current trajectory of entrenched power, if unchallenged and allowed to grow, will change the country in ways that will continue to harm, enslave, and control millions of people. People often do not realize empires like America can fall, especially when they think they can’t. We just want them to fall in all the right ways where the most people are actually freed.
“The greatest calamity which could befall us would be submission to a government of unlimited powers.” - Thomas Jefferson
I hope you are seeing why God is highlighting Thomas Jefferson. God’s heart is to see America and its people not be controlled, ruled, or destroyed in ways that will harm her and change the trajectory that the founding fathers were actually right in implementing, regardless of their flaws. There is a real spiritual revolution that is happening in politics that wants to work for the good of all people. Either way, we are coming to a point where human consciousness will be awakened one way or another.
So here I end with the greatest good that must remain our focus regardless of which direction the country goes and regardless of who gets elected. These candidates will come and go, but the people who can vote them in now, while we might have the chance, might determine the course of history in a way that is unlike other nations where censorship has returned. But God must remain the sole focus of all our work in the nation within the localities, boundaries, and borders, in which we live. In this, serving other people will remain the focus on what will be for the greater good, even if totalitarianism and tyranny wins out. Should that happen, we would then be like the citizens and Christians in the Roman empire: controlled, oppressed, censored, taxed, silenced, and killed by a ruling elite, but many would still not bend a knee to tyranny. Like those Christians, we would joyously proclaim our connection to God as we lay down our life for those who do not know what they are doing, which situates us inside of God in the Way that transcends life and death. We, as Jesus instructed, will not fear those who can kill the body, censor our speech, or harm our children, but we will respect God who gives us life both now and forever. We will listen to the dreams God gives us, and to the dreams he has for the nations, as we come to understand what Jefferson means when he says:
“Rebellion to tyranny is obedience to God.”
This quote was the substance of my dream.
My friends and perceived enemies, this could not be truer today. As Vivek Ramaswamy said, and I now finally agree, “We are in a 1776 moment.” God is actually and actively a part of our lives and this nation’s continued experiment of diversity and freedom, both civil and religious. Surprising deliverers of oppression are here who could have otherwise just stayed doing nothing to fight for this by remaining in their rich and comfortable lives. Musk and Trump aren't the only ones. Men and women from all walks of life are waking up to the spirit of a quote Jefferson may or may not have said,
“Evil triumphs when good people do nothing.”
So be a good person. Notice the good in people who others are teaching you to hate, but who are actually helping others. Look at the fruit of their life in the big picture and not the fruit of what the press or latest gossip tells you. Most importantly, keep your eyes and heart fixed in God, whose Reality is the most important thing to know in order to understand the dimensionality and depths of life. It is in this sense, and I mean the sense in all the ways Christianity is actually wholesome and good, that Jefferson’s words shine:
“The reason Christianity is the best friend of government is because Christianity is the only religion that changes the heart.”
While God does change hearts outside the category of Christianity, these words do guide us to be friends with transformed hearts that fight against tyranny and work for the blessing of an entire nation. It reminds us to be friends with government in a manner that can lead to actual change and to resist government when it is actually hurting God’s creation. We will not please everyone, however, we will please God.
With a declaration of independence unto God, and the call to separate ourselves from tyranny to serve all people, may we arise in Love in peacefully knowing:
“Rebellion to tyranny is obedience to God.”
In Obedience and Love,

"...I have sworn upon the altar of god eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man." - Thomas Jefferson
